Third-grader Quantavious Eason was arrested and charged as a “child in need of services” after being caught peeing behind his mother’s car.
After her 10-year-old son was sentenced to “adult” probation for public urination last year, LaTonya Eason has filed a lawsuit against the police officers who arrested her son, claiming that their actions amounted to excessive force and inflicted “physical and psychological injury” on her son.
In August 2023, LaTonya Eason attended a meeting at a Senatobia, Mississippi, law office, leaving her two children, including 10-year-old Quantavious, in her parked car. According to the complaint, Quantavious told his sister that he needed to use the bathroom, but she pointed out that a sign on the door of the law offices stated that there was no public restroom.
The third-grader then decided to urinate outside, shielding himself with one of the car’s doors. According to the suit, A Senatobia police officer witnessed this and interrupted LaTonya’s meeting to inform her.

In December, Quantavious was sentenced to three month’s probation.

“Because of this, [Quantavious], a minor, cannot enjoy life as a normal child,” the complaint states, adding that he “is treated as an adult criminal. Instead of enjoying activities a child would enjoy, his youth is tainted by malicious prosecution.”
This is yet one more example of law enforcement doing the wrong thing. Who cares if a 10-year-old urinates outdoors especially if he did so discretely? Perhaps the police department in this town has nothing better to do than arrest a 10-year-old What if the tables were turned and their child was arrested for the same reason? I hope the family is adequately compensated for the physical, emotional and psychological harm done to their child.
Another example of our sex offense laws causing more harm than good. Talk about traumatizing a 3rd grader who had no idea what he was doing was wrong. I hope the family makes law enforcement in Ms and nationwide think again about arresting a kid for peeing outside.
Like I said before, they should arrest the police officer for watching the boy pee. What a creep.
Just read an article about the Good Squad of Rankin County (MS) Sheriff Dept racially torturing people which confirms the action by the second set of LE who arrived was racially motivated and nothing more. As mentioned before, history proves this in MS and it still continues to write it as such. I still hope the boy gets his due compensation.
